Rifle Deer Hunts are offered on public land in Game Management unit 33, 51A and unit 52. Units 51A and 52 are located in North Central New Mexico and unit 33 is in the southeast portion of the state. These areas hold some outstanding trophy animals. Though the population is not large, for the real trophy hunters these are great hunts. Unit 51A and 52 hunts can be combined with an elk rifle hunt or a bow elk hunt for a combination hunt. The unit 33 hunt is a deer hunt only. These are draw unit and the odds of drawing these licenses are excellent.
