Northern New Mexico Mule Deer Hunts

This hunt takes place on an 8,000 acre ranch near Raton, NM. This ranch, because of its habitat, is managed strictly for trophy mule deer. One to two hunters is all that is allowed on the ranch during a year. The ranch is surveyed to determine the quality of deer on the ranch and when trophy quality deer are located, then a hunt will be scheduled. This hunt is for deer scoring 170 B&C and above. Two deer have been taken on the ranch in the past that scored 184+ B&C. This hunt is only for trophy class deer.

  • The cost of the hunt includes: meals, courtesy transportation during the hunt, guide, and caping for trophy preparation of the animal.
  • The hunter is responsible for: their license, personal gear, weapon, motel costs and transportation to Raton.

1x1: $5,000 + 8% tax plus a kill or wounding fee of $1,000

$275 plus an annual game hunting license ($65 for a non-resident) purchased across the counter
